Contest Rules & Statements

Contest Rules

1. Before submitting your entry, please read and understand these Competition Rules thoroughly. Submission of an entry constitutes your agreement and acceptance of these Rules. A fully completed entry form must be submitted during the process. 2. Student participants are encouraged to freely use their imagination and draw inspiration from daily life based on the theme. Capture your interpretation and feelings of the theme, with no geographical restrictions on the subject matter. Entries must closely align with the theme and convey a positive, healthy spirit. Photography equipment can be a professional camera, a standard camera, or a mobile phone. 3. Each participant may submit one single photograph. Both black and white and color photos are acceptable. Submit the digital version of your entry via the Orbis website at http://www.orbis.org/photocomp. Entries that have already won awards in other photography competitions, or have been previously published online/in other media or entered into other award contests, are strictly prohibited. 4. Uploaded entries must be in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size not exceeding 25 MB. Each photograph must be accompanied by a description of 50 to 200 words. After the judging panel identifies shortlisted entries, the organizing committee will request the original data files (original digital files, or the initially captured negative/slide) from the respective participants. Failure to provide these within the specified period will be considered an automatic withdrawal from the shortlist. 5. Digitally created artworks or works that significantly alter the original image are not permitted. Entries may only undergo minor adjustments, such as color balancing. Techniques such as compositing, adding elements, or making substantial alterations to the image are strictly prohibited. 6. No personal information should appear within the design of the entry itself. Furthermore, entries must not contain any commercial information unrelated to this competition (e.g., promotional content, other brand logos, links to personal websites, etc.). Otherwise, the entry will be deemed invalid. 7. The participant must be the sole independent copyright owner of the submitted entry. The entry must not infringe upon any third-party rights. If a portrait or photographic element of a third party is used in the entry, the source must be credited, and written consent from that third party must be obtained. The competition and its organizing committee are only responsible for assessing the quality of the work itself and assume no responsibility for verifying its copyright status. The participant shall bear all legal liabilities and losses arising from any copyright infringement related to their entry. Any works suspected of plagiarism or infringement of intellectual property rights will be automatically disqualified. 8. No entry fees are required for this competition, and submitted entries will not be returned. All copyrights and authorship rights of the entries belong to the authors. The organizer and its licensees are granted the right to use the entries for non-commercial purposes related to this competition and Orbis's related "Seeing the Hope" public welfare activities. This includes, but is not limited to, archiving, online/offline exhibitions, publishing, and promotion on the internet, newspapers, magazines, and other media, without remuneration. 9. Entry Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025. 10. Result Announcement and Notification Date: December 31, 2025.
